After another frigid season I have seriously considered getting a pair of these. I have the over boot sleeping bags for your feet and have used them for a while. They work fine but are bulky and ya gotta haul them in and out. I have had a few guys that swear by these Therma Cell warmers. Anyone use these before? What do ya think?

It’s not even cold yet.  I use those zip up over the boot insulators.  They work good on those January mornings.

Freak that body suit looks nice and toasty.  $300 I think.  Not bad if it works.

I have the Therma cell heated insole’s , honestly, Iwas not that impressed with them ,Keep in mind also the insole’s when inserted inside your boot, will cause your foot to sit higher inside the boot,  I could only   use them in my muck boot’s,, They did not fit well inside any of the LaCrosse boots   I have,  They made the fit to tight , Not sure if you have ever checked in to or heard to the Micky/Bunny Military Boot’s,, -Ebay and Amazon always have great deals on them,  that or if you have an army surplus store near you, you might want to check them out,  I have alot of hunting friends that hunt Iowa, Wis,and Michigan, were the winter’s are more extreme then ours here in Il and they swear these are the warmest boots on the market,

Baba,  I tried the thermocellis too and wasn’t very impressed with them either. Tried them once and returned them. They claim that they last 5 hours but I think that 5 hours starts when you turn on the switch on the insole and put them in your boots. Even though you don’t turn them on with the remote you are still using up the battery life.

Ok gang thanks for the input. I think I’ll just get another pair of the boot insulators/sleeping bags for your feet. Those Thermacells are just too $ for concern of failure and the insulators albeit bulky have never let me down .

I have had the thermocells for 3 years and haven’t had a cold foot since. I agree, if you use them, you will need one size bigger boots. Tight boots are the absolute worst and directly cause cold feet. In all honesty, I rarely even turn the heat on and believe the extra 3/8 inch of the sole is the biggest benefit, which I believe you could get the same benefit off a regular pair of foam dr schoals or something similar. I heard they had a regular pair of soles at Walmart for this purpose, which I would try before buying the thermocells.

Haven’t tried the thermocells but as for the heater body suit….LOVE IT!!!! keeps me warm. I take it every time I go to the stand. Takes a little used to putting it on. I got mine from the clearance section. Saved some money there. Also I am 5’9 but ordered the tall and I love the extra room. Haven’t been cold in about 3 years since I bought it.

I agree with Andy, get the Arctic Shield boot covers they are less bulky and work better.
I fold mine flat and strap to outside of pack, on really cold days or if you really have troubles with cold feet throw one hot hand in each boot cover before slipping them on and you can sit through most anything.
Also I’m assuming you are wearing base layer socks under a good pr of wool socks in not too tight boots.  This setup alone makes a world of difference!!

The boot covers work best if you put them on as soon as you sit down instead of waiting til your feet start to get cold.  Keeps the heat that’s built up in there.  If not you better have the heat packs.

A base layer of merino wool socks combined with a heavy wool sock does make a world of difference.  My base layer is First Lite, and I have heavy wool socks made from Smartwool.

My experience with Thermacell heated insoles is that they are junk. I tried two pairs with very limited success.
