Shot this old brute two weeks ago in Greene County IL. I ended up losing blood and had my buddy call somebody who had a blue tick. Took the hound only ten min the next morning to retrieve it.

Nice buck and a good dog right there. Congrats! Just curious how you know he is 7.5?

Well im not a 100% sure he is but the taxidermist was almost certain he was. The buck had one molar on each side and that was it. Around the bucks face is all grey. Just an old deer to say the least. I guess I should change the title of the thread.

I would say a 1/4 mile. Had no blood the last 200 yards of the find. Found him in a spot I never would of looked. If I did not have the dog I would of never found him whole.

Congrats.  I would think watching the dog work on the find would be pretty cool as well.
