Pretty similar to last season for our group in Marshall county.  I personally saw 7 deer all weekend while in the stand.

My spot has been going downhill steadily the last 4 years,I got a 10 pt. Friday morning my son hunted the rest the weekend and saw the same 2 fawns the whole time. This is a small place I hunt but have always seen 15- 20 deer there at any one time,it has steadily gotten worse and doesn’t look to be getting better around my neck of the woods,,

Only hunted Friday and Saturday seen 21 does and young both days. I am guessing that they were some of the same deer between the two days. Did not see any bucks and heard some shots but none close. I am glad to see does and young. I know there are a few bigger bucks around but they were probably tending hot does in the middle of a cut corn field somewhere.

Took 6 pt Fri evening in Marshall with muzzleloader.  Only thing I saw all day.  Son and grandson saw two does and one buck Fri but nothing else.  So far I have not seen any does while bow hunting which is sort of scary.  A few have shown up on trail cams.  About two dozen shots heard all day Fri.  For that matter I don’t recall hearing any coyotes either…nothing for them to eat I guess.

I think we counted 8 shots all weekend, and normaly I hear 20 the first day.I have only gotten a pic of one doe with fawns with her on my trail cam all fall,it is kind of scarey, not shooting a doe for a long time at my place that’s for sure,,

Saw 14 deer Friday (all does and young), zero deer Saturday, and 4 deer Sunday morning.  I took an 11 pointer on Sunday morning to complete my season (didn’t go out Sunday evening). My shot on Sunday morning was the only shot I heard all weekend anywhere close to our property, which is very eerie.  Trail cameras showed lots of nocturnal activity of bucks and does.

All but two of my trail cam picks the last 3 weeks have been nocturnal. Could it be the deer are taking matters into their own hooves and becoming more nocturnal to survive (evaluation). The does I seen Sat / Sun looked like they had been spooked . Maybe coyotes/mature buck/ young buck. No blaze orange where they came from.

My brother got a nice 10 pt Saturday. I took my 12 yr old but we struck out and he kept farting in the blind.  Kids are gross.

Our hunting group had a terrible weekend in comparison to most years.  We have never shot fewer than 3-4 nice bucks on opening weekend and this year one of us shot an 8pt.  We all saw deer, but passed on all does and small bucks.  I had 19 sightings the first few days, which is about half of normal, most of which were in shooting range, but I didn’t pull the trigger.  The number of shots heard was shockingly low, at best guess 1/10th of the shots I normally hear.  Everyone I talked to said the same, SLOWWWW.  What’s everyone’s truthful guess / excuse for not seeing as many?  I am hoping lockdown played a role along with the extreme cold temps that had them feeding hard for the week prior to gun season and the warm up had them sitting tight?  I know Friday was not warm, but that is the morning I did see 12 in the first 1 hour.

Saw lots of deer on the prairie locked down. Archery hunting pressure already had the fields and fencerows full. Lockdown didn’t help. Saw 2 groups of bucks on no hunting properties harassing an individual doe. 6 bucks in one group. 4 in another.  Then we have the Friday morning drivers than scare the deer and send them to prairie. Wish they’d ban drives til 2nd season. It would help.

Slightly better than last year but barely. I’m from Michigan and bought a farm in Schuyler county last summer. This season and last have been shocking to us as we used to come down and hunt in the early and mid 2000’s on leased ground and we just can’t believe the difference in the overall herd from then to now. Quantity is certainly way down but quality is even worse yet. Drive around during the rut and maybe see a couple of deer, still haven’t seen a buck over 140 in these past two seasons on my farm or driving around. Me and the two guys I hunt with used to enjoy driving around almost as much as hunting BC we would always see great bucks almost every time we’d take a drive. Had no idea the overall herd was in such trouble or might have reconsidered buying a farm. Frustrating.
