Ward was neglegent climbing out of car and grandstanding but it looked liked Tony swerved toward him. I hope not but if they can prove he did, he has problems brewing. Civil for sure maybe criminal. He ’ ll never be the same regardless.

I like Stewart as a driver, he is not afraid to get in anything and race it. But he does have a big ego to go with it. At Macon raceway where he is part owner he has been known to push or wreck someone else that didn’t get out of his way and I would bet he has done this at a lot of other dirt tracks. Tempers flare at races, the money and effort that these guys that race put into their cars. The guys that race the little Hornets to the guys like my neighbor who race the Outlaw Late Models. And when they are on their so called home track and a guy like Stewart comes in, they take offense when something like that is done. Do I think Stewart killed this guy on purpose, NO WAY! But maybe did he do something to try and intimidate this guy and it turned out bad? I would say it is very possible. But the kid should not have been where he was on the track either. Just terrible all the way around.

The driver assumes responsibility when he exits the car to go chase race cars.

I’ve met Tony and watched him race at Macon.  He’s a nice guy off track but pretty aggressive in the car.  I don’t think this was intentional but that’s just a bad situation no matter how you look at it.  I agree with self inflicted he’ll never be the same.  You can’t fix that.

Tony is the only guy that knows what happened and he ain’t talking.  The only thing I could see possible is if the car’s computer may have been storing race data.  Perhaps that data could show turns, rpm’s, etc. that may indicate Tony tried to intimidate the driver.  Even then, I don’t see how he could be charged because even with data it would be inconclusive.  Given Tony’s history, my guess is that he tried to show up the driver and things went terribly wrong.
